As difficult as the current economic downturn is, it’s an incentive to innovate; making this a good time for a Creative Cities Summit in Lexington.
Here’s what I’m looking forward to from this event:
I’m looking forward to meeting and learning from the Economic Development Professionals and attendees.
Speaking from the perspective of someone that lives outside of the region, Central Kentucky is a U.S, treasure; renowned for world class horses and bourbon. If it weren’t for that, I don’t think the area would have been able to attract the World Equestrian Games to U.S. soil. So Government Leaders in Central Kentucky have an important responsibility to preserve the environment, and I’d like to hear them say that they think so.
I’m interested in learning what Governments are achieving in terms of conducting business with Citizens via the Internet. because making Government available 24 hours/day, improves Customer Service, and is a ‘green’ way to do business.
I am interested in learning about diversified efforts towards economic development, e.g. what Lexington’s doing in support of entrepreneurism. Attracting corporations with tax incentives to relocate plants & headquarters creates jobs, but is ‘potentially’ at odds with protecting this area’s beautiful pastoral land and heritage.
