For those of you traveling to Lexington next week, the city has pulled out all the stops to get spring here in fine fashion. Opening night concludes here with fire dancing from Amalgamation Fire Nation and the “fire cyclone” machine from the University of Kentucky!

Mike Lydon, founding principal of The Street Plans Collaborative and co-author of The Smart Growth Manual will speak at the Creative Cities Summit in Lexington.  Lydon will lead a session on Innovating the Built Environment which will look at how our built environment impacts our economic vitality, our social capital, our environment and even our health.

Lydon is also recognized as an expert on developing a bike culture and will be part of a panel called Taming the Car:  Reclaiming Our Cities from the Tyranny of the Transportation Department.
